The company is a joint venture between ChemEnergy (H.K.) Limited and Zhanjiang Port (Group) Co. Ltd.,  founded in 2000 with a capital of US$30 million.  It is located in the petrochemical storage zone of Zhanjiang Port, covering an area of over 50,000 square meters, and is currently the largest liquid ammonia storage company in China. It is also the only professional storage company in China that can simultaneously offer three modes of transportation of liquid ammonia, i.e. ship, train and truck.

Location:

Zhanjiang MIC ChemEnergy Co., Ltd. is located at the confluence of the South, Southwest and Hainan of mainland China. It is the closest transshipment center from mainland China to Indonesia, an important origin for synthetic ammonia (via the Strait of Malacca). It is also the nearest port from mainland China to the Middle East (Saudi Arabia, Oman, Iran), which is the most important origin for synthetic ammonia. The company's business covers multiple provinces, cities and autonomous regions including Yunnan, Guizhou, Chongqing, Guangxi, Guangdong, Hunan, Jiangxi, Fujian, Hainan and Taiwan etc.

Operating results:

The company has 4 storage tanks with a total capacity of 64,000 cubic meters and a designed annual turnover capacity of 600,000 tons. The annual turnover volume exceeded 100,000 tons in 2017, reaching above 200,000 tons in 2018, and above 300,000 tons in 2019. It is expected to exceed 400,000 tons in 2020. The commodity ammonia imported by the company accounted for 32% of the country's total imports in 2019. It ranks the first in the country in terms of imported volume.

Dedicated Berths

The company has currently the largest and the most comprehensive dedicated berths for liquid ammonia in China.

Berth 201: can load and unload up to 50,000 ton ammonia vessels round the clock.

Berth 202: can load and unload 5,000-25,000 ton ammonia vessels round the clock.

Berth 212: can load and unload 3,000-7,500 ton ammonia vessels round the clock.

Train Loading Dock

The company has the largest liquid ammonia train loading and unloading platform in China with 27 sets of loading and unloading equipment which can handle up to 2,000 tons per day.

Truck Loading Dock

The company has 4 truck filling bays for liquid ammonia with a maximum loading capacity of 90 trucks per day and the volume handled up to 2,500 tons.
